Kessben University College Expands Digital Infrastructure and Launches New Electronic Systems

Kessben University College has successfully launched a major digital infrastructure upgrade across its campuses, marking a new milestone in the university’s commitment to technology-driven education. This project included the deployment of an advanced e-learning system, secure student portals, and an enterprise-grade network extension at both the City Campus (Aseda House, Adum – Kumasi) and the Kuntanase Main Campus.

The comprehensive design and implementation were led by Mr. Abubakr Siddique Muntaka, the University’s IT Manager and Chief Technologist, who also serves as a Lecturer at the School of Physical Sciences. Mr. Muntaka, who has been with the University since the 2015/2016 academic year, brought his deep technical expertise in network engineering, security systems, and cloud architecture to deliver a scalable and secure IT ecosystem for both on-campus and remote access.

Key components of the project include:

  • A unified student portal with Single Sign-On (SSO) functionality
  • A robust eLearning platform integrated with real-time assessment tools
  • Enterprise wireless networks with captive portal access control
  • Online application and admissions portal for prospective students
  • Network extension and Wi-Fi systems covering lecture halls, offices, and student areas

These systems enable students and staff to securely access university resources from anywhere, whether on or off campus, while ensuring data protection and maintaining system stability. The networks were designed using industry-standard security protocols and enterprise hardware, optimized for performance and reliability.

Mr. Muntaka’s leadership, alongside his IT team, ensured all systems were deployed using open-source and cost-efficient technologies, with centralized monitoring and backup systems in place. His academic and professional background, including a master’s degree in information technology from KNUST and certifications, strengthened the quality and sustainability of the implementation.

The University’s Management, led by Chancellor and Founder Mr. Stephen Boateng (Mr. Kesse), commended the work, describing it as “a visionary step forward that positions Kessben University as a technological leader among private institutions in Ghana.”

These efforts are part of Kessben University’s broader goal to deliver innovative, accessible, and secure education through technology. With these foundational systems now active, the University continues to offer students a modern learning experience that meets global standards.
