Campus Life
GET THE EXPOSURES, EXPERIENCES AND EXPERTISE HERE AT KUC
We believe living and learning should complement each other, two parts of the whole University experience. Our students are, therefore, expected to live on campus for their first two years at KUC, so our community is constantly Illuminated with new faces, new opportunities, new friends, new ideas and new experiences.
Generally, the campus life of every fresh student and, sometimes, continuing student, is full of new experiences, new encounters, new socialization, new personal freedom among others. Students should be able to prepare for life on how best they could maximize and optimize their stay on campus by figuring out what to bring, how to handle challenging circumstances, how to meet and manage their psychological, social and academic demands.
KUC is a place to explore, experience, and engage new opportunities so get involved.
KUC – EDUCATION FOR DEVELOPMENT!
At Kessben University College, we believe that university education is an epitome of holistic development – involving the social, emotional, physical, mental, and intellectual growth of our students. Our understanding of university education goes beyond the normal classroom experience. KUC’s conducive campus promotes personal growth, diversity/community, friendship, positive vibes and unforgettable moments and memories.
SPORTS AND RECREATIONAL GAMES
KUC’s campus life is full of student activities including sports (e.g. KUC League), recreational games (Inter Hall Games, KUC’s Academic Excellence Awards Night, KUC Strongest, Miss and Mr. Akwaaba, Pool Side Party at the Swimming Pool, etc.), Annual Miss KUC Pageant, student clubs and associations, University Open Day/Campus Visit Event, easy access to the world-famous Lake Bosomtwe, a very beautiful side attraction.
HALLS OF RESIDENCE
KUC has three (3) Residential Halls, namely;
- Anane Boateng Hall;
- K. Appiah Hall; and
- Dufie Hall.
The majority of our students live in residence halls situated within the Kuntanase Main Campus. Most of the halls are arranged in 2-in-1, 4-in-1 and 6-in-1 rooms. This turns out to be an excellent way to instantly assemble a small group of friends/roommates.
At Kessben University College, it is generally observed that on-campus residential students have higher graduation rates, higher CWAs/GPAs, positive and inclusive social life, and report a greater satisfaction with their university experience.

STAYING PEACEFULLY WITH ROOMMATES
Having a university roommate is most students’ first challenging and interesting experience living with someone who is not related to them. It comes with both benefits and challenges. Getting along with a university roommate can enhance a student’s university experience and exposure. A student will undoubtedly get an instant friend, someone to confide in and keep him/her company during his or her first time away from home.
However, since KUC randomly assign first-time roommates, students also run the risk of being matched with some students may find challenging or “unbearable”. Some useful tips to manage roommates:
- Establish some basic rules at the beginning based on compromise/win/win approach, cooperation and unity.
- Build and sustain good communication and positive rapport.
- Avoid gossiping and backbiting.
- Make Time for Honest and Open Discussion.
- If possible avoid cooking together. However, you may share food as and when the need arises.
- Respect the space and privacy of your roommates.
- Remember your roommate could be your life mate!
ACADEMIC LIFE ON CAMPUS
We emphatically make our students to appreciate the fact that quality education cannot be compromised.
KUC nurtures leaders who will be change agents and innovators. We produce high quality human resource to meet the ever-changing socio-economic developmental needs of society. We create congenial environment for teaching, research, entrepreneurship and community service.
Our students are imbibed with not only “book-sense” but also commonsense that are requisites for solving basic societal challenges.
Our student academic experience is propelled by self-motivation, initiative, originality, student-centredness, creativity and excellence.
SOCIAL LIFE ON CAMPUS
Make New Social Connections on Campus: Expand Your Horizon and Perspective! Social connection is an essential human need. Having a strong support network is core to building a sense of belonging.
Kessben University College encourages its students to engage in building and sustaining positive, mutual connections and relationships with their fellows, faculty members, professors, mentors, counselors, staff members, etc. for better, enjoyable and comfortable campus life. There are a wide range of recognized student associations, religious groups, entertainment and debate clubs, etc. that students can willingly join.
Engage and socialize with others on campus.
MAXIMIZE YOUR TIME AND FREEDOM ON CAMPUS
Basically, there is a vast difference between being a university student and being a student of Senior High School. The difference here is the supposedly “unrestricted freedom”.
The lecture and seminar aspects of your programme of study will be the least time-consuming activities. Most of the work that you do will be within your personal time. Completing independent research, writing papers, preparing for any quizzes, examinations and presentations, making your way through the suggested reading list, completing assignments are all tasks that will take up the vast proportion of your stay on campus.
It is advisable that you will maximize all resources, including your precious time, available to you to your advantage because your future starts from Kessben University College.
