Kessben University College, in affiliation with National Board for Professional and Technician Examinations (NABPTEX), introduces a 2-year Diploma in Media and Communication with effect from January 2018. The programme provides its students with an appreciation of the role of the different media and communication in modern society. It is a comprehensive media and communication programme designed to provide students with the requisite theoretical and practical knowledge, skills, abilities and confidence to search for information, write and present copy effectively and efficiently.
The programme begins by introducing students to Media, Sociology, Media and Children’s Programmes, Digital Communication, Communication Skills as well as Practical French (option) and Practical Akan (option). Students will also gain insight into Media and Sports, E-Media/Internet, Media in Ghana, Private and Public Media, Public Relations, Computing, Media Ethics and Morality, Advertising, Films and Documentaries, Social Media among others.
In collaboration with Kessben Media (Kessben Television and Kessben Radio), students will undergo intensive and industry-based practical training. KUC Media and Communication Demonstration Studio (on-site) also provides hands-on training to our students.
